How long will my eyebrows last once they're done?

Depending on a variety of factors, like lifestyle and skin type, some will hold onto the pigment better than others. Your new brows will last you around 12 - 24 months, rarely less and sometimes longer before most people would then want a colour boost top up. There is no guarantee how long they will last for you. They fade gradually over time.

Does it hurt?

Everyone experiences different levels of pain, some may feel nothing while others may feel some pain. Most people describe it as a scratching feeling. Numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort.

How long does the treatment take?

Please allow between 2 - 2.5 hours all in, this includes a consultation, choosing colours and designing the shape. Jill is very thorough and a perfectionist, this can be seen in her results.

I have an old eyebrow tattoo, can you go over it?

You must let Jill know if you have ever had previous cosmetic tattooing done before. A lot of old work that has been done many years ago was most likely done with a machine and a different type of ink. This has left many faded out to funny colours. If your eyebrows have not faded enough Jill will not work on you. The problem with going over some old work is that the skin may have lots of scar tissue which will not hold onto the new pigment implanted.

Do you draw them on first?

Yes, always. Your eyebrow area is measured and a template is drawn on to follow as a guideline, you may bring in photos of how you would like them but please remember that what may look good on one person may not be suitable for you as everyone has different eyebrow and facial features.

Who is best suited for Powder Brows?

Anyone wanting fuller brows or who have no eyebrows at all! Suffering from only half a brow? Gaps? Uneven areas? Not a problem, Jill will give you back those eyebrows you once had or always wish you did.

Who is best suited for Hair Stroke Brows?

Hair stokes heal and last better in drier and firmer skin types. If you have oily skin with a lot of open pores or a more mature you are better to look at Powder Brows or Combination Brows to achieve a longer lasting result. Please note, Hair Strokes alone are not suitable for correction work.

Who is best suited for Combination Brows?

Anyone! They are the perfect blend of Powdering and Hair Strokes to suit all skin types.

Who is not suitable?

Anyone who:

  • Is suffering from cancer/undergoing chemotherapy

  • Suffers from major heart problems such as stroke/heart attack

  • Has diabetes type 1 (type 2 will require medical clearance from your doctor)

  • Problems with skin healing

  • Blood disease

  • Weak immune system

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding

  • Suffering from severe anxiety, if you are very unsure and having doubts, or overly worried that you may not like them, then it is advised not to get this procedure done. If you turn up to your appointment and decide you no longer want to go through with it you will forfeit your deposit.

Will it look natural?

Jill does not follow trends, she goes by what will be suitable for your face. Her approach has and always will be natural looking eyebrows. The more hair you have the more natural it will look. The colour used is matched with your natural eyebrow hairs. If you would like really thick eyebrows it is best that you naturally have a good amount of hair to start with. If you naturally have very light or blonde eyebrows and wish for much darker brows, you may still have to tint your eyebrows for it to blend in, eyebrow tattooing does not replace tinting. Also keep in mind that eyebrows are sisters not twins.

Will I still have to wax/pluck my eyebrows?

Yes you will still have to maintain your eyebrows, your hair is still going to grow.

I am pregnant or breastfeeding, can I get this done?

No. You will have to wait.

How do I look after them?

You will be given special aftercare instructions on how to care for your new eyebrows.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a £50 deposit is required to secure your booking. It is non-refundable. Your booking is not confirmed until you pay this deposit. The amount owing on the day will be £250, which includes your first top up that is booked in 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment.

Is there any long term aftercare advice?

You’ve invested good money in these gorgeous new eyebrows, so naturally you’ll want to get the best value from your investment. Helping your eyebrow tattoos to stay sharp and nicely coloured means you’ll need to take care of them long term too, although really this care is fairly minimal. We recommend:

  • Always using sunscreen, as sunlight will fade your semi permanent eyebrow tattoo.

  • Avoid using anti-aging creams in the area, as they can affect your tattoo.

  • Avoid certain skin treatments on the brows such as chemical peels, facial scrubs, laser rejuvenation, microdermabrasion and others.

  • If you plan a skin treatment, tell your beautician about your permanent eyebrow tattoo.

  • If you need an MRI scan or other medical procedure, inform your doctor about your semi permanent eyebrows.
